Biography
I completed my bachelor’s and master’s degrees in chemical engineering in Iran. During my master’s studies at Sharif University of Technology, I designed a 2D fluidised bed system. My thesis focused on particle mixing and segregation in binary fluidised beds, where I applied signal and image processing techniques. As part of this work, I developed a novel method for the online monitoring of particle mixing based on pressure signal analysis. In addition, I worked on multiple computational fluid dynamics (CFD) projects, particularly investigating bubble behaviour in fluidised beds. Following my graduation in June 2024, I served as a research mentor for undergraduate students for several months..

In April 2026, I joined the University of Sheffield’s Particle Technology Group as a PhD researcher. My project, titled “Mechanistic Understanding, Design, and Scale-Up of Fluid- Bed Granulation,” is supervised by Professor Rachel Smith and Professor Mohammad Zandi.

Research
My PhD research focuses on improving the understanding and design of fluidised bed granulation processes used in powder-based pharmaceutical manufacturing. By investigating the underlying mechanisms that control these complex systems, I aim to develop more reliable approaches for process design, scale-up, and control, ultimately supporting more efficient and cost-effective drug production.
