Biography
I received a PhD (2019) from the University of Strathclyde (Glasgow, UK) within the centre for Continuous Manufacturing and Crystallisation (CMAC) consortium. The overarching aim of my PhD was focused towards pharmaceutical engineering which was titled: “Combined Crystallisation Wet Milling Methods for Particle Engineering” funded by the EPSRC. I also completed an internship at Takeda Pharmaceuticals in Boston, US during 2018.

After PhD, I then worked at the CMAC National Facility on industrial tier 1 proprietary projects. This included collaborating with companies such as AstraZeneca and Takeda in early drug product development on process design & monitoring, scale-up and control of batch and continuous crystallisation as well as isolation (filtration, washing, drying) procedures for active pharmaceutical ingredients.

Research
In early 2020, I joined the University of Sheffield as a research associate working with Dr Rachel Smith and Prof Jim Lister within the Particle Technology Group. This project will investigate mechanistic and process models for powder based manufacturing processes with a particular focus on spherical agglomeration techniques. My additional research interests include implementing particle engineering strategies through process intensification, multi-sensor measurement analysis and devising workflows for which I aim to achieve for a spherical agglomeration process. This project is funded by the EPSRC CMAC Future Manufacturing Research HUB encompassing several partners across six universities and eight pharmaceutical companies.
